Nadine and David (1 of 1)

I had been looking forward to photographing Nadine and David`s wedding since meeting them and talking about their wedding plans. The wedding ceremony was going to be held at St James The Great Church in East Malling with Nadine leaving her house and arriving at the church in a horse drawn carriage…..

Every wedding gets planed down to the last detail and I love being a part of that, the only thing left to chance is the weather. Unfortunately, there is very little we are able to do about the weather other than having a contingency plan. I had one for Nadine and David`s wedding but fortunately it was not needed, the sun was shining and it turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year.

I arrived at Nadine`s house just before the horse and carriage, which was supplied by The Ostler Carriage Company and looked splendid. Nadine`s smile as she came out and saw the carriage was enough to tell how pleased she was with her ride to the church.

I took some photographs of Nadine and her two son`s setting off to the church and then went ahead to take a few photographs of them on route. I left the carriage to get to the church and meet David and take photographs of the arriving guests who were being piped into church by a piper. As the guests all disappeared into the church Nadine arrived and I was able to grab a few photographs of her and her bridesmaids.

I had attended the wedding rehearsals which enables me to know how the ceremony will proceed and where I will be able to position myself so that I am able to capture pictures during the ceremony without being in the way.

I like to capture the moment where the groom sees his bride for the first time, it is almost impossible to fake the very often emotional moment. The first kiss is also one of those moments that you just have to capture and again the importance of attending the rehearsal pays dividends as I find myself knowing when the moment is going to happen and where I can stand to capture it.

After the Wedding Ceremony Nadine and David where piped out of the church and I grabbed the opportunity to photograph a few group pictures. Before Nadine and David set of to Rianos in Maidstone for the reception I grabbed a few photographs of them leaving together in the beautiful carriage.

I arrived at Rianos before the now happily married Nadine and David taking the opportunity to get some photographs of the reception venue including the flowers supplied by Classic Flowers.

After dinner and the speeches, I shared a little time with Nadine and David to take a few photographs before the evening guests arrived. My last job of the day was to photograph the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
