Engagement photography Dover

An engagement shoot is a great opportunity for couples to meet their wedding photographer and for the wedding photographer to meet the couple. Very often the couple feel uncomfortable in front of the camera (most of us do) and it can take a while for the couple to relax and enjoy the experience.

I like to photograph the soon to be married couple in a place or places that have a special meaning to them, perhaps where they met or where they like to visit or sometimes just a place they have thought about together for their pictures.

When I was contacted by Suzi and Zac from Dover I imagined the port the beach and the cliffs, all iconic Dover images so I was surprised when Suzi suggested that they would like to go to Kearnsey Abbey for their engagement photography shoot. It was a place they both new very well having grownup locally and enjoyed the grounds as children.

The weather was not kind, rather cold with heavy showers but we made the most of it taking photographs using the parks lake and trees as backgrounds before driving to take some pictures with Dover castle as a background.
