Engagement Photo shoot for Hannah and Larry

Taking photographs for an engagement is an opportunity to do far more than record the event; It’s the first time the wedding photographer gets to work with the couple, and very often the first time they’ve been professionally photographed. Another key advantage is that the couple learn to become more relaxed in front of the camera. It’s also a chance for the wedding photographer to teach  them some very basic poses which will help when the wedding photographs are being taken.

I met Larry, Hannah, and young Dylan in a local park in the early evening so I would be able to make the most of the stunning light that occurs just before sunset. The young couple did feel self-conscious in front of the camera at first so I suggested We start with some fun shots of Hannah and Larry just playing in the kid’s playground before taking a few posed pictures. I am always looking for nice areas to shoot and Just a stone’s throw from the park a quiet footpath lead to a lovely field that created a very natural backdrop.

Not wanting to leave little Dylan out of the proceedings I captured a few images of him on his own as well as a lovely shot of him and with his mum.
