Improving your wedding photography skills
It takes a combination of photographic skills to be a good wedding photographer. You must be able to master portraits, candid photography, macro photography, landscape photography, editorial photography to name just a few.
I find that entering photographic competitions had help me enhance my skill set in all aspects of photography. Some of the competitions I enter have set themes and some are open, I tend to do better in set theme competitions but usually come high up in the rankings for the open comps which run as a league. I managed a 15th and 3rd in the two opens last year and 9th and 4th this year.
Each year there is a print and projected image of the year competition, qualification is by receiving a 3rd 2nd or 1st place in any of the comps through the year. Last year I won the projected image comp with my keyboard player image.
This year I have 10 entries so I am hoping for good things but whatever the outcome of I have learnt new skills this year that I can use to enhance my wedding photography.
